I love drawing water creatures. You can’t go wrong with them. Sometimes I try to mess em up on purpose, but there is always something under the sea that makes me say What the What? 

I mean you got your blobfish… which saves me when someone is like …hey what’s that thing you’ve drawn there..I can always be like “blobfish…duh!” You’ve got yer narwhal which I honestly thought was a nonexistent unicorn fish along the lines of a jack-a-lope….But this thing actually exists. There are see-thru fish and light up fish and then of course there’s sea pork. You have your octopi and your giant tortoise, the likes of which I have always wanted in my back yard.
   
But tonight the Garra Rufa has my mind reeling. Not since learning of the Amazon river Candiru…the fish that crawls up your…never mind…if you don’t know, I don’t want to be associated with the explanation. But, not since that fish have I been so focused and aware of a critter.  The Garra Rufa is one of the names for the species of fish that eats your dead skin cells. For Relaxation, fun, health and profit!!! FOR FUN AND PROFIT. They are illegal in the United States…of course..I mean we can’t be trusted to make our own local cheese or have a giant tortoise in our back yard.  Flesh eating fish spas are not gonna fly here…but oh how I wish they would.

I have spent more then the appropriate amount of time watching garra rufa videos on You Tube tonight. It looks like you enter a spa, and submerge either your feet in a special fish filled tank…or in the more luxurious fish spas..you step into a pool with your whole body!  The fish swarm to you. Latching on and nibbling at your areas of interest. Picture holding a bagel to the sky at the beach and being attacked by seagulls…like that only suctioney-er I imagine. Or like sperm trying to find an egg. Or like shoppers on black friday going towards the 50inch TV…it is a mad rush to suck feet for these guys, chaotic, beautiful, impressive.

Most people I have talked to have been completely grossed out by the idea of a fish eating their toe fungus..But to me it sounds amazing. I want to do it so bad I don’t think I will be able to sleep tonight.

There are a lot of laws in controversy in our country.  My facebook news feed is so polarized with opinions.  What I seldom see is anyone fighting for our smaller rights, like to keep a giant tortoise in our yard, or chickens in our neighborhood, or the ability to sell raw milk…these small freedoms disappear so quietly and suddenly we live in a world where you cant stick your feet in a tub of cuticle sucking fish.

Sometimes I think I should get into politics, fight for some of the things I believe, but I know the minute someone reviewed my google history and saw how much I  look up diseases you can get from meat-juice or where to get flesh eating fish….no one would vote for me.
